About Me

One thing that has inspired me most in my life is the potential that we hold as women to grow a child, birth a child and provide nutrition for that child.  This natural, wondrous, raw and animalistic process holds complete awe and wonder for me.

How we acknowledge our instincts and how we tap into them,  can benefit and enrich our journey.

At times, this experience can be intense and powerful and the profound nature of the natural, physiological journey a woman’s body embarks on is unique and precious.  I feel this is a time that a supportive community is of utmost importance. I believe that a woman should feel that they are being encouraged and supported to follow the path that is unfolding for them, that their voices are being heard and their needs being met.

In my life I hold many things dear to my heart.  The ability to express through crafting and creativity, building and being part of a healthy community, one that has respect, to respond and adapt.  I also feel  a good sense of humour is an essential part of processing, I feel that it is a very good tool to disperse emotions and ease tension.  I welcome peace in my life, I appreciate the Earth we live on and I am grateful for the love and support within my family and friends.

Having three children of my own, now beautiful grown up beings, has led me to explore this role as a doula.  I birthed my first baby in hospital and then birthed my second and third babies at home.  For all three births I had the encouragement and support of my loving husband by my side.  Becoming a mother is a profound journey and being supported, trusted and listened to is important.

I have previously worked as an early years teacher and this work has led me to provide a supportive role for families, encouraging them in their unique journeys and offering information and advice to help empower them as individuals and as a family unit.
